ACU is located on the corner of Antill Street and Phillip Avenue. Some parking is available off Anthil Street, just before the ACU entrance or off Phillip Avenue.

Registration begins on Friday at 1.30pm with the welcoming address at 2.00pm.

Cost: $80 members • $30 Concession • $110 non-members
If you have not already paid and are bringing a cheque, from your school, as payment on the day of the conference, you can download an Invoice prior to the conference below.

Receipts will be issued on entry.

Complete the registration form (can be done on the computer) and then either email it to heather.wardrop@ed.act.edu.au or post it to CMA, PO Box 3572, Weston ACT 2611.

Why Register? We need to make name tags for participants, work out how much food, tea and coffee is required and allocate rooms for the keynote speakers.

Can you still attend if you don't register? Of course! (You'll be the one with the handwritten name tag)

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

2:00 pm Friday - Anthony Harradine – Director, Noel Baker Centre for Maths Education, Adelaide. Anthony is well-known throughout Australia and overseas for his innovative ideas on Maths Education. Since 1990, Anthony has been actively involved in the process of integrating the use of electronic technology into teaching, learning and doing mathematics. He has a passion for mathematics, maths education and professional development of teachers.

5:30 pm Friday - Derek Holton of the University of Otago. Derek is well known in Maths Education circles as a person with a passion for involving students in their learning. He has collaborated with Charles Lovitt in publishing a book for the Curriculum Corporation – “Lighting Mathematical Fires”.

9:45 am Saturday - Ann & John Baker. Ann is an expert in mental computation strategies & former Director of the Institute of Education at King’s College, London. John is an expert in the use of IWB’s in teaching & learning Maths, & was formerly at the Open University in England. Ann & John now live in Qld and have developed ‘Natural Maths’, a program for promoting mathematical thinking.
